Restorative Yoga

Tuesday evening, 7-9pm - last class until FALL - April 30th

Restorative Yoga is the practice of deep physical and mental relaxation while resting in gentle yoga postures.

Blankets and bolsters support the release of tension and stress in the body, while guided breath-work helps loosen what is held and draws our awareness inward. Conscious relaxation supports our nervous system by turning on our natural capacities to restore, recover, and repair our whole self.  Classes also include slow movement explorations to warm up the body and transition between postures.

This is an inclusive and healing yoga practice, for all ages and abilities, and can be adapted to most needs. No prior experience, mat, or special clothing is required. All are welcome.

Restorative and Slow Yoga - An Experiential Workshop about Moving (& Being Still) with Awareness

RESTORATIVE AND SLOW YOGA WORKSHOP

A balancing mix of slow stretches, gentle yoga sequences, and restorative poses – these workshops focus on our interoceptive, or inward, experience of yoga.  

Slow yin stretching releases and nourishes connective tissues. Gentle yoga sequences ground and energize.  Restorative poses relax and repair.  All are focused on cultivating our felt-sense alignment, a more full, easy breath, and overall wellbeing.

These practices can be a means of returning choice, strength, sensory awareness and safety to our body - by deepening our capacity to listen to ourselves.  All you need is comfortable clothing. Mats are provided or you are welcome to bring your own.

 Storied Bodies - A Narrative Workshop       

STORIED BODIES

Open to all women, and to all who identify in any way as feminine, storied bodies offers a place to investigate the ways we tell our stories, and how we listen to the stories of others. Led by Gin MacCallum, these workshops extend from her interest in how narratives shape our conversations, our bodies, our imaginations, and our communities.  

This is a laboratory space during which a smattering of research, practices and questions will be offered to provoke and guide the exchange.  Participation is encouraged, but all are always free to opt out of discussion.  There will be tea.
